Northbridge Middle School students, reading the short novel "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes'' learned about a 5-year-old Sutton girl, Lily May Sullivan, who is currently being treated for leukemia. The students of language arts teacher Kathryn Jenkins, they decided to build 1,000 cranes to bring hope to Lily, just as they did for Sadako in the book.
