GRAFTON, Mass. - The Northbridge Rams boys basketball team got off to a quick start and never looked back, downing the Grafton Indians by the score of 66-50 Monday night in Grafton.

After a free throw by Grafton early, the Rams went on a quick 12-1 run lead Alex Cone, the senior guard who drained two 3-point shots to spark Northbridge.

Every time Grafton made a run to narrow the lead, the Rams answered. Northbridge's big man, forward Harrison Murphy, lead the Rams with 21 points. As the game wore on, he was forced down low and the Indians had trouble stopping him.

The Indians were lead once again by senior Nick Treu who poured in 21 points, including five 3-point shots, and by Brendan Stock who scored 14 for Grafton.

Grafton narrowed the lead to just seven points at 48-41 early in the fourth quarter after Obi Melifonwu got an offensive rebound and hit a lay-up, but would get no closer.

Northbridge started to pull away midway through the quarter as Murphy began to assert some dominance down low and the Indians began to wear down.

The Rams go back in action on Wednesday night in Millbury as they take on the Woolies. Grafton next plays on Sunday night at home against Uxbridge.
