NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. - Harry Ampagoomian Sr., 80, of 831 Providence Rd. died Friday, Feb. 17 at home after a brief illness. 

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Theresa B. (Vallee) Ampagoomian; three children, Harry Ampagoomian Jr. of Whitinsville, Alice M. Ampagoomian of Riverdale section of Northbridge, and Christopher N. Ampagoomian of Millbury; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a brother, tut Ampagoomian of FL; and several nephews and nieces.  He was brother of the late Charles Ampagoomian Sr.

  Born in Manhattan, NY on Sept. 14, 1931 he was son of Oscar and Mary (Chillingarin) Ampagoomian.

Mr. Ampagoomian owned and operated with his wife Linwood Garden Center on Providence Road for 37 years.  Previously he worked in Whitin Machine Works several years.  He was educated in the Northbridge Public School system and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict.  He served in Korea as a staff sergeant and he received four bronze service stars.  He enjoyed cooking, especially BBQ and shish-kabob.  He also enjoyed fresh and salt water bass fishing.  Harry was a long time member of Good Shepherd Church and a member of their choir.

His graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, Feb. 23 at 1 p.m. in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Providence Road. There are no calling hours.
