NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. - You may have been lucky enough not to lose a tree during the tropical storm in August last year, or in the damaging nor'easter in October. It's a guarantee, however, that there's a pile of brush

littered yards The annual brush burning season opens Sunday, Jan. 15 and continues through May 1.

Fire Chief Gary Nestor said permits will be issued on a daily basis subject to favorable weather conditions. Burning is allowed from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Nestor said no permits will be issued after noon.

Only cut and stacked brush is allowed. No leaves, grass, large logs, or building materials are allowed to be burned.
