NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. – Retirement, particularly its financial side, can be confusing. But a two-part program at the Senior Center planned in February and March is designed to take obstacles out of the way.
The first seminar, Navigating Your Next Adventure: Managing your Income in Retirement, will be offered by a representative of the firm Edward Jones on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 1 p.m.
The workshop is designed for those already retired or thinking of retiring.
“It introduces a number of ideas to help build a reasonable strategy for managing income and expenses during retirement,” notes Senior Center Program Director Jeannine Dionne. It also discusses how to address concerns such as inflation, health care expenses, market volatility, and how to prepare if things don’t go as planned.
The second part of the seminar, Preparing your Estate Plan, will be held Wednesday, March 7 at 1 p.m.
“It will address developing an estate plan and discuss the importance of working with an estate planning attorney, the function of a will, the benefits and risks of trusts, and the probate process,’’ Dionne said.
It will also discuss different strategies to decrease estate taxes and passing assets to heirs, she said.
All seniors are invited to attend. There is no cost.
The Senior Center is located at 20 Highland Street.
